ICYMI: NATIONAL ELECTION FORECASTER ANNOUNCES GORDON IS FAVORED TO WIN RACE FOR NY-02

FiveThirtyEight Announces Race for NY-02  “Slightly Favored to Win” 59 to 41 in Gordons Favor

BABYLON, NY-- Today, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Jackie Gordon, Democratic candidate for New York’s Second Congressional District, announced FiveThirtyEight has classified Gordon’s position as “slightly favored to win” the highly competitive NY-02 congressional race.

NY-02 is an open seat following the announcement of Congressman Pete King’s retirement after 28 years. Gordon faces Assemblyman Andrew Garbarino in the general election.

The FiveThirtyEight Rating System simulates the election to generate outcomes and 59 to 41 times out of 100 likely outcomes Jackie Gordon wins the election for NY-02.

Four other national election forecasters-- POLITICO Election Forecast, Inside Elections, Cook Political Report, and The Daily Kos--  have upgraded New York’s Second Congressional District’s race designation from “Leans Republican” to a “Toss Up”.

“With just 26 days left until the election, LTC Gordon and the entire campaign team is laser-focused on increasing access to affordable health care, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, providing tax relief to working families and small businesses, and supporting our veterans. Momentum is on our side, and it is clear that voters know Jackie is the only candidate in this race who will put the working families of Long Island’s South Shore above corporate special interests,” said Gordon’s campaign manager Meg Scribner.
