SENATOR KAMALA HARRIS ENDORSES JACKIE GORDON
Senator Harris joins growing list of endorsements as Gordon expands support in NY-02

BABYLON, NY— Today, Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Jackie Gordon, candidate for New York’s Second Congressional District, announced that she has received the endorsement of Senator Kamala Harris.

In announcing her endorsement, Senator Harris said: “We need Jackie’s voice in Congress. As a combat veteran, immigrant, educator, and public servant, Jackie understands the complexities of the issues facing working and middle class families today. Just as she has already served her country and her community, I know that Jackie will be a powerful advocate for Long Island in Congress, and I am proud to endorse her.”

This is among the first down-ballot endorsements that Senator Harris has made in the 2020 election cycle, and demonstrates the strength of Gordon’s candidacy in this highly competitive seat.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of Senator Harris, who has paved the way for so many women, especially women of color to run for higher office,” Gordon said. “We have built an incredible coalition of support here on the ground from teachers, veterans, small business owners, and community leaders who want to see real change in NY-02. It means so much to have Senator Harris lending her support to our movement.”

Senator Harris joins her colleagues Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Senator Amy Klobuchar in supporting Gordon’s candidacy, and she is the latest in a series of high-profile endorsements that the Gordon campaign has announced.

In the last two weeks alone, Gordon has also received the endorsement of Senator Klobuchar, Giffords PAC (former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords), the National Organization of Women, the NewDem Action Fund, and the New York State Union of Teachers.

In January, Gordon was one of the first candidates added to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Red to Blue program. Gordon will appear on the Democratic, Working Families, and Independence Party lines in November.
